Over two days in April, movers and shakers from the video game industry came through Louisiana to meet with local video game studios and students. Research District BR accompanied them for their stops in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. The main attraction in Baton Rouge was the Red Stick Video Game Symposium held at the Digital Media Center (DMC).
The Red Stick Video Game Symposium on April 28 brought the bleeding edge of the video game industry to the edge of the LSU campus.
The day started with Future Fest, a showcase of student projects and local indie video game production companies from demonstrating a vibrant development culture that is emerging in the region. For lunch, our VIPs enjoyed a VIP tour of Tiger Stadium, complete with local game titles demonstrated on the big stadium video boards.
At 1pm, it shifted to the main theater stage for a series of talks and panel discussion, featuring thought leaders and seasoned veterans from across the continent. After the presentations, it concluded with an informal mix-and-mingle reception for all the speakers and other attendees.
