If you spend much time at the Louisiana Emerging Technology Center (LETC), you might have noticed some changes with the common areas. This past Friday, we started a three-week experiment with the common areas on all three floors of the main atrium.
Our goal is to create a more inviting atmosphere for conversations and connections between community members. To get there, we're using new combinations of the existing furniture stock to discover what type of new furniture is needed.
With that in mind, we ask you focus more on the function of the furniture, not the form and design. As we figure out what's really needed to make the spaces come alive, we'll find better looking furniture.
We'd love for you to take advantage of these new arrangements and give us feedback on what works for you. Here's a quick run down of the experiments in progress - click on the photo to learn what the goal of the arrangement is:
Share Your Observations
We'll keep an eye out for how folks use these spaces differently. We hope you will, too. People's actions speak greater volumes than their words.
You can provide your feedback to Dominick Constanza, property manager of LETC and DMC for Gateway Facilities Services. Or you can leave a public comment here. After three weeks, we'll assess the feedback and observations to determine what's working and what's not.
